The Peoples Democratic Party has debunked rumours making the round about a purported suspension of the National Chairman Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, stating that it is fake news peddled by ‘vicious anti-people forces’
In a press release by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon Dabo Ologunagba said, “such report is completely false and a product of the imagination of mischief makers with the intent to destabilise our party, create an impression of crisis within our ranks and mislead the unsuspecting members of the public. ”
He went further to say that the National chairman, Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu is on a short vacation outside the country, while he also officially transmitted power to the Deputy National Chairman (North), His Excellency Umar Iliya Damagun, to perform duties in acting capacity in line with the provision of the Constitution of the PDP 2017 (as amended).
The press release maintained that PDP and the National Working Committee is united and Sen Ayu remains the National chairman, urging members of the the party, teeming supporters, the media and the general public to disregard the purported suspension as fake news.
