Ijaw Nation celebrate 56th anniversary of late Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro Day across Nigeria and Diaspora, 56 years after his demise. May 16th have been the national day for the Ijaw people to celebrate an icon and freedom fighter who payed the ultimate price for the unity of Ijaw nation, Niger Delta and Nigeria at large,

The 2024 Isaac Boro Day was grace with the presence of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara who received the Ijaw Youth Council leadership and Ijaw Son’s and daughter who left their busy schedule to identify with Ijaw Youth’s in a solidarity March across Port Harcourt street.

significant aspect of 2024 Isaac Boro Day was the promise made by Governor’s Fubara to build a befitting secretariat for IYC in the State and to attend to other issues of the Council. A promise which when fulfilled will be the rally and administrative ground for all Ijaws in Rivers State.

The Executive Governor of Rivers equally charged members of the IYC to be good ambassadors of Ijaw nation and be peaceful in their conduct, as the Ijaw people are know for respect to constituted authority.

As thousands of Ijaw Youth’s marches through the major cities of Nigeria and abroad to pay tributes to their fallen heroes. It should be a time of sober reflection on the selfless sacrifices and leadership qualities 0f Isaac Boro, who never enriched himself nor criminalized the Ijaw struggle with oil bunkering, cultism, kidnapping and vandalism of critical federal government infrastructures.
