Andoni LGA Chairman Assures MCC of friendly Environment for Completion

“The pace of work is commendable. Let me assure His Excellency that the Andoni Local Government Council under my watch will provide the needed environment to pave the way for the completion of this road, which is important to all Andoni people. I hereby warn anyone who is anti progress to stay away from this project. “

“His Excellency, who was here on 18th May, 2024 promised us the Ngo internal road and also awarded this road with immediate effect, and just after two weeks, the company mobilized to site to ensure that this road is completed in a short time. Having this road from Ngo to Oyorokoto is a huge leverage since Oyorokoto is the largest fishing port in West Africa. It will definitely boost our economy.”

The Andoni Council boss, Reginald Ekaan, while appealing to youths of the area to own the project, commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for prioritizing development in Andoni. He added that the road, when completed, will turn around the economy of the area.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, who has deemed it fit to put smiles on the faces of Andoni people. At the end of the day, by the time this road is completed, it will enlarge and expand the economic opportunities in Andoni. “

He added that “there are people who do not know that the love the Governor has for Andoni people is huge. Gone are the days when we do cover ourselves with nylon while coming to Andoni, especially when it is raining. Now we can drive on a smooth tarred road courtesy of the love of His Excellency”

Also speaking, the project manager, Monier Construction Company, MCC, Pascal Madueke, assured that the road will be delivered in six months.

“In 6 months’ time we are going to complete this road. We have the capacity to do that. This is not the first time you all witnessed what happened to the Andoni section of Unity Road when we took over.
As you can see, the clearing is going on. We have so far cleared about 2.5 kilometers, and within the next few days, the entire expanse will have been cleared. After this, we are to commenced sand filling of certain aspects of the road. “

“Already we are making arrangements for pre-cast slabs that we are going to use for our culvets,” he added.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara had during the commissioning of the Andoni section of the Unity Road in May, announced the award of the Ngo internal road and the Ngo-Oyorokoto road and charged the contractor to commence work immediately.
