Two One-Chance Robbers Narrowly Escape Lynching After Brutal Beating in Abia

In a dramatic turn of events, two members of a notorious one-chance robbery gang narrowly escaped being burnt alive in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State. The duo, known for preying on unsuspecting passengers, particularly using tricycles, faced the wrath of a vigilant community after a past victim raised the alarm.

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers, armed with sharp objects and employing hypnotic tactics, targeted passengers’ belongings and even hacked into their phones to transfer money. However, luck ran out for them near the Golden Guinea Breweries along Aba road when a vigilant passenger raised the alarm, prompting a swift response from the neighborhood.

The enraged mob subjected the robbers to a merciless beating, rendering their tricycle beyond repair. With the threat of being set ablaze looming, the suspects reportedly confessed their crimes and pleaded for mercy, which was reluctantly granted with the intervention of some elders.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by criminal elements in society and underscores the importance of community vigilance in combating crime. Authorities have been urged to step up efforts to apprehend such criminals and ensure the safety and security of residents.
