Senator Ningi Resigns

Senator Abdul Ningi representing Bauchi central senatorial district has stepped down from his role as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, citing ongoing developments in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation as a whole as the reason for his decision.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Senator Ningi expressed gratitude to the forum members for entrusting him with the leadership position for the past eight months. He emphasized the significance of the forum for the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.

Senator Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was suspended for three months following his allegation that the Federal Government operated two budgets and claimed that N3.7 trillion was padded into the 2024 budget.

The suspension was a result of an amendment to the motion raised by Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, which Senators debated for hours.
