Empowering Youth: Rivers State Government, GCTC Join Forces for Innovation!

Today, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Honorable Chisom Kenneth Gbali, PhD, welcomed Global Craft Technical College, also known as Skill Up Nigeria House of Invention, on a courtesy visit to his office.

During the meeting, Mr. Kingsley, the team lead, commended the Honorable Commissioner for his proactive approach in guiding the youth’s activities in the state. He expressed the purpose of their visit, which is to establish a partnership with the ministry to foster the development of young talents in skills acquisition and vocational training.

A highlight of the visit was the presentation of the winner of the Science Innovation Competition, who showcased a demonstration on flying a drone, which was his innovative project.

In response, Honorable Commissioner Gbali thanked the delegation for visiting the ministry. He assured that the Sim Fubara’s led administration through the ministry of youth’s programs on ICT, vocational training, and entrepreneurship cover their demographic. Additionally, he encouraged the students to stay focused on their studies and not be swayed by distractions.

Also present during the visit were the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Ruhuoma Chinedu Kejeh, the Director of Administration, Mrs. Songo Orugbani, the Director of Network Social Mobilization, Mr. Samuel Miebaka, and Mr. Mekwa, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics.

This visit marks a significant step towards collaboration between the ministry and educational institutions to empower and equip the youth with essential skills for their future endeavors.
