Obaseki Visits Family Of Late Asagba

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has extended condolences to the family of the late Asagba of Asaba, Chief (Prof) Joseph Chike Edozien, CFR, JP, as well as to the people of Delta State.

Obaseki during a condolence visit to the bereaved family said he was deeply touched by the demise of the late monarch “On behalf of the government and the good people of Edo State, I extend heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Asagba of Asaba, Chief (Prof) Joseph Chike Edozien, CFR, JP, as well as to the people of Delta State.

As someone who is close to the Edozien family, I am deeply touched by the passing of the late Asagba and I will cherish memories of his larger-than-life personality.”

Expressing personal sadness over the loss, Governor Obaseki highlighted Chief Edozien’s significant impact and contributions to society and the development of Asaba “While mourning his departure, we must also celebrate his life and his many contributions to society, and the development of Asaba. We thank God for the privilege of giving us such a highly intellectual and iconic leader”.

He urged a dual approach of mourning and celebration, remembering the late leader’s remarkable legacy. The Governor assured support to the bereaved family and all Deltans during this period of mourning.
