Brazen Kidnapping Shakes Abuja Highway; Resident Abducted in Daring Attack

In the midst of Abuja’s escalating security concerns, Abdullahi Sabo, a city resident, becomes the latest victim of a bold abduction.

Abductors targeted Sabo and his wife as they traveled home, intercepting their Ash color Lexus Jeep with the registration number ABC 769 TP on Sabon-Lugbe, Airport road.

The assailants, concealed in an unmarked Golf car, unleashed gunfire and deflated the vehicle’s tires, forcing it to a halt. Fortunately, Sabo’s wife managed to escape before the kidnappers seized him.

Daramola Joseph, a neighbor, recounted the incident, revealing that the couple was returning from the city center towards the access road to Jedo Estate when the attack occurred.

Despite inquiries, SP Adeh Josephine, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command, remained silent on the incident at the time of this report.

This occurrence follows closely on the heels of another abduction less than 48 hours prior, where gunmen invaded the Army Estate in Kurudu, abducting several residents within Abuja.

In response to growing concerns, Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, assured residents of safety during townhall meetings in Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils. He emphasized the implementation of enhanced security measures and announced the arrest of bandits and their informants.
