In a poignant display of solidarity, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, led a delegation to visit the grieving family of late Ndidi Livingstone, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Mgbuoshimini. Livingstone fell victim to an unthinkable tragedy when he was fatally shot in front of his church by unidentified gunmen near the Rumueme waterfront last Saturday.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, CP Disu assured the family that justice would prevail, declaring, “The killers of Ndidi Livingstone will not go unpunished.” The police commissioner, accompanied by his management team and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agip division, conveyed empathy towards Mrs. Patience Ndidi Livingstone and her children, standing resolute in the commitment to unravel the perpetrators behind this heinous act.
During the visit, CP Disu emphasized the imperative of collaborative efforts in combating crime, urging society’s divisions to unite in support of law enforcement. “To curb crime, the Police cannot work in isolation. We need every support we can get,” he stressed.
In response, Mr. Godspower Livingstone, the elder brother of the deceased, expressed gratitude for the reassuring visit, acknowledging CP Disu’s dedication to bringing the killers to justice.o
The tragic incident occurred on January 13, 2024, as Ndidi Livingstone stepped out of the compound of Peculiar Faith Ministry. The assailants, lying in wait in a black SUV, swiftly fled the scene after executing the fatal act. As the manhunt intensifies, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, assures the public that efforts to apprehend the ruthless killers are progressing.
