Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has undertaken a firsthand inspection of the dilapidated section of the Etche-Igbodo road in Etche Local Government Area. Failed section of Etche-Igodo road

Responding to complaints from Umuohie-Igbodo communities, where the previous administration’s construction efforts ceased, Governor Fubara visited the site on Tuesday. He personally assessed the stretch of the road, even driving to the Okpala community in Imo State to gauge the extent of the work required.

While acknowledging the commendable work done by the immediate past administration on the Etche-Igbodo road, Governor Fubara expressed concern about the incomplete section causing difficulties for both residents and commuters.

“It’s really bad, and you can see that. I wonder how these people managed during the rainy season because if it is as bad as this in the dry season, then it must be terrible during the rainy season,” Governor Fubara remarked.

“As a government, we will see what we can do immediately to complete this section so that there will be very easy traffic along this route,” he assured.

Residents and commuters have long grappled with the challenges posed by the unfinished segment, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Governor Fubara’s commitment to prompt action brings hope for a resolution to this longstanding issue.
