Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, has denied influencing the Court of Appeal’s decision to remove the Senator representing Adamawa North senatorial district, Elisha Abbo from the Senate.
Akpabio’s spokesperson called Abbo’s claims delinquent and unbecoming, stating that the court’s judgement was based on the evaluation of facts and evidence.
The Court of Appeal declared Amos Yohana of the Peoples Democratic Party as the rightful winner of the Adamawa North senatorial election. In response, Abbo alleged that the judgement was politically motivated as a punishment for not supporting Akpabio’s bid for Senate President.
