According to the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Dantani Wushishi, a total of ninety-three schools were discovered to have participated in mass cheating. Additionally, fifty-two supervisors were identified as having provided inadequate supervision and assisting in the misconduct during the examinations.
Prof Wushishi further explained that the implicated schools would be summoned by the council for a discussion, following which appropriate penalties would be imposed.
