The youths of Opobo/Nkoro LGA earlier today gathered to receive the Hon Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr Chisom Gbali and the Permanent Secretary of his ministry, Dr Roland Obed-Whyte to Opobo/Nkoro LGA, ably led by Amb. Siminialayi Godswill Uranta who joined Rt. Hon. (Dr) Enyiada Cookey-Gam, the Executive Chairman and his team.
It was a familiarisation tour by the Dr Chisom Gbali to reassure the youths of Opobo/Nkoro LGA of Governor Fubara’s commitment towards youths development. Youths are the future leaders of the State, and they play important roles in contributing to the progress of any community. Sir Siminalayi Fubara is a youth friendly Governor that understands the importance of running a youth inclusive system which in less than 100 days in office has demonstrated that by running a cabinet with about 70% of youths.
Dr Chisom Gbali revealed that the government has positive initiatives and programs to make Rivers youths self reliant, adding economic benefits to their families, homes, communities and the State.
Rt. Hon (Dr) Cookey-Gam while commending Governor Fubara’s youths inclusive government applauded the governor’s initiatives of organising the ongoing youth entrepreneurship scheme and the planned ₦4b enterprise fund to facilitate the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the State. He further hinted Dr Chisom Gbali of his youths empowerment programs as he took the Commissioner on a walking tour of the skill acquisition centre.
Amb. Siminialayi Godswill Uranta appreciated Dr Chisom Gbali for his vision of touring around the LGAs with his reassurance message. He assured him of the cooperation and support of Opobo/Nkoro LGA youth towards every programmes by the state government.
While speaking with the press, Amb. Siminialayi Uranta congratulated His Excellency, Sir Siminalayih Fubara, GSSRS as he celebrates his first 100 days in office as the Executive Governor of Rivers State, commending his impactful development strides. He assured that Opobo/Nkoro youths will continue to show strong dedication and commitment in supporting good governance at all levels.
