Two US officials who spoke to international media under condition of anonymity said that the private jet which crashed killing everyone onboard including Russian mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin was likely shot down by a surface-to-air missile inside Russia.
Yevgeny name was confirmed on the list of passengers on the jet that crashed on Wednesday, an incident which many considered to be a payback from Kremlin and not an accident.
It will be recalled that the Russian mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin led an aborted mutiny against Russia’s armed forces in June. A public challenge on Putins authority, which was expected to come with repercussions.
Meanwhile, President Putin has sent his condolences to the families of the bereaved with a promise of investigating the cause of the crash, while accusing
the USA of trying to create disunity among the great people of Russia.
