INDELIBLE FOOTPRINTS OF SIR SIMINALAYE FUBARA A DILIGENT PERFORMER

Since coming onboard as the sixth democratically elected governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara has taken deliberate steps towards providing good governance to all citizens and residents; irrespective of political, religious and ethnic backgrounds.

The common saying that the initial steps of a masquerade determines how well it can go, holds true with Sir Fubara. One of the first actions of the governor, that fully resonates with all Rivers people is the assessment tour he took to the state secretariat complex to get first hand information. That move has yielded many positive results with the activation of basic amenities at the complex, and the setting in motion to achieve 100% functionality.

Among other initial steps taken by the governor was that brilliant visit to the prestigious university of Port Harcourt where the state government is constructing a pacesetting multipurpose convocation arena for the citadel of learning. For whatever reason, the pace of work slowed down, but the timely visit of the governor reactivated works on the site. It’s now expected to be among the line up of projects to mark the 100days of his excellency’s reign in office.

So far, the governor has been intentional about providing good governance for the people of Rivers with his inspection visits to Borikiri, Etche and other parts of the state to ensuring and sustaining the viability of post primary education in Rivers State.

One other action that has elicited commendations for the governor is the re-awarding of the Andoni Section of the famous Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Unity Road in the heart of Rivers Southeast Senatorial District. The project which before now was handled by Raffoul had no direction and completion deadline, was revoked and re-awarded to MCC.

On July 26, the governor embarked on a remarkable journey which became a breakthrough for the people of Abua/Odual and Emohua as he made commitment to the speedy completion of the abandoned 240m long bridge to link Abua and Agba-Ndele (Emohua LGA). The significance of this project cannot be overemphasized as it provides the shortest possible route and time travel from the homes and farmlands of Abua to the city centre, as against the time consuming turns and detours through Ahoada.

Without doubt, a diligent observance of the initial actions of the governor reveals the good intentions he has with his holistic approach on all fronts.

Sir Fubara is set and already making indelible his mark in the heart of Rivers people with his visionary, people-oriented administration. Indeed, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRR, is a blessing to Rivers State.
