In a press statement by his Senior Special Assistant on media, Sir Fubara maintained that the state position of the state is to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) preferred candidates for leadership of the National Assembly; Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senator President and Hon Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker, House of Representatives.

He asserted that the position of the State should be the interest of all elected national assembly members from Rivers State who are expected to be formally admitted to either of the chambers when proclaimed. He equally charged them not to veer off the declared interest of the state during the proclamation, urging them to remain united at home and national front.
