GOV. OTTI MOVES TO REVIVE NATIONAL AMBASSADOR NEWSPAPER

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) has restated his administration’s resolve to revive and reposition the Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC), publishers of National Ambassador Group of Newspapers in order to compete favourably with other tabloids.

His Special Adviser on Strategic Communication, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed this during his familiarization visit to the Corporation in Umuahia, recently, added that Gov. Otti was committed towards repositioning Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to perform optimally and generate revenues.

Prince Kanu decried the facility decay in the corporation and charged Management and staff of ANPC to up to their game, cooperate with Gov Otti’s administration, insisted that it would no longer be business as usual.

Kanu also described Gov. Otti as an astute administrator, technocrat, and Media-friendly personality, who would not tolerate any form of corruption, maintaining that ANPC would be revived to serve the people, government and generate revenue.

The Communication boss further stated that Gov. Otti would not tolerate any form of indolence and corruption as any officer found wanting would be kicked out using relevant laws.

Contributing, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Ifenkwe described Gov. Alex Otti’s administration as one that would thrive on transparency, charged the Management and Staff of the Corporation to jettison all forms of corruption, stealing of government properties and emulate honesty which Gov. Alex Otti stands for or be kicked out of the system.
He called on the management to work as a team to achieve their set goals and objectives in line with Gov. Otti’s vision and mission.

Also speaking, the state Director of Information, Comrade John Emejor described the media house as a veritable tool in documenting the activities of Gov. Alex Chioma Otti and further charged staff of the corporation to work with unity of purpose.

Earlier in his remark, the Acting General Manager, Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC), Bro. Kingsley Ugorji, congratulated Prince Okey Kanu on his appointment, describing it as well deserved owing to his pedigree.

Mr Ugorji further pledged the Corporation’s commitment to allign towards the realization of Gov. Otti’s vision and mission in Abia State.
He listed the challenges of the Corporation to include; infrastructural decay, lack of printing materials /equipment, lack of subvention (funding), lack of Government patronage, lack of power supply (electricity), among others.

He promised that the corporation would improve their content , circulation and print run among others and serve the government and the people of Abia State effectively.

Highlight of the event was facility tour while persons present at the event include the News Editor, Mr. John Ikechukwu Okeke, Assistant News Editor, Dcn. Chukwuemeka Egejuru, HOD, Commercials, Mrs. Mary Ehumadu, Head, Sports Unit, Mr. Chimchetam Eze among others.
