President Bola Tinubu is set to appoint 20 Special Advisers following the speedy approval of his request by the Senate on Tuesday.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read the letter from Mr President on the floor of the red chambers to colleague senators in the house.
Though the president did not list the names of the prospective special advisers, approval was given for the appointments.
The senate president in his remarks said it is of “utmost urgency” that the president has a team to work with.
“Because there is no name for special advisers we will just approve it from here,” Lawan said.
“We feel that that this is something of utmost urgency.”
From inception, the government of President Tinubu has been keen on cabinet formation so as to hit the ground running to address the huge challenges confronting the country.
