WIKE, TYPE OF LEADER NIGERIANS ARE YEARNING FOR – IKIRIKO

The Executive Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government, Hon. (Evang.) Hope O. Ikiriko, has described Governor Wike as the type of leader which Nigerians are yearning for.

The Chairman made this remark during the official inauguration ceremony of Akpabu-Odido Link Road at Itu Head Bridge, Odido Community, Ahoada West LGA.

Hon. Hope, in his eloquent speech, said:
“Your Excellency, Ahoada West are happy, Odido People are happy. I want to remind you and the world that Odido people have nothing to offer, but all they have is God and you (Governor Wike) as the Governor of Rivers State. Therefore, Rivers people must learn one thing today, What qualifies one to benefit and enjoy dividends Of Democracy from Rivers State Government is just to be a Rivers Man.”

“You have served Rivers State well, you have set a pace that no man has set, and we pray that God gives you long life and good health, God should continue to make you grow. What you have done here in Rivers State, Nigerians are yearning to see you replicate that in the whole Country, and one day, they will see you do that by the grace of God.
We thank you and all who work with you.”

“Our regards to our sister and Mother who is with you (Your Wife, Her Excellency). You are looking very well, and we know she is doing her best to keep you fit. We are proud of her, tell her we love her, we send our regards. She should keep doing what she is doing.”

Governor Wike, in his remarks, stated that Odido Community is in Ekpeyeland and he married from Ekpeye.
He said he was motivated to execute the project in order to bring to the limelight the Odido community that truly seemed unknown by most people in the State.

He said with the completion of the Odido Road, the people that could not drive into their community are now linked by road to other parts of Emohua Local Government easily and also drive to Ahoada West Local Government are where they belong and have their kinsmen.

The governor added that the road will also enable farmers to transport their farm produce to the market with ease.

The Commissioner for works, George-Kelly Dakorinama Alabo, said; The Akpabu-Odido Road, both the major roads into the community, providing a circular drive and the extension to the waterfront have been delivered in five months.
It is worthy to note that Odido is one of the communities in Ekpeye and which forms parts of Ward 11 in Ahoada West Local Government Area.
