Following the threat of shutting down Anambra state owned Newspaper National Light by Governor Charles Soludo, due to it inability to generate enough funds for the state.
Dr Odogwu Emeka the chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), had approached the governor with reasons to sustain the press house.
It was gathered that the governor had announced his intention of cutting down over 200 work force of the State-owned newspaper, in his attempt to reorganize the sector for efficiency.
Dr Odogwu, appealed to the governor to rather consider redeploying the staff into other state ministries, as sacking them will exposed them and their dependants to hardship.
