Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Bayelsa State after polling majority votes of the cast in the exercise.
Sylva polled a total of 52,061 votes as declared by the election committee chairman, Major General A.T. Jubrin, to defeat David Lyon who scored 1,582 votes.
Recall that six aspirants including Chief David Lyon, the APC Governorship Candidate in 2019, Mr Joshua Maciver, Barr. Festus Sunday were screened to contest the 2023 governorship election that held on Friday across the state.
