In an effort to rid the Service of bad eggs and in furtherance of the Federal Government’s fight against corruption, the Nigeria Immigration Service have demoted 14 officers, while four have been disengaged from the Service for various offences bothering on gross misconduct and malpractices.
According to a press release delivered by Nigeria Immigration Service Spokesman, DCI Tony Akuneme today 10th January 2023 , where he informed that “11 personal were still awaiting trial and four other personnel were discharged and acquitted, two other personnel were redeployed, 11 others issued warning letters and one placed on compulsory retirement from the Service.
The Service appealed to the public to support the NIS with information through it appropriate channels to enable them deliver on its mandate.
