ABIA SET TO HOST MR AND MISS ABIA 2022:

All is now set as Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in collaboration with the office of her Excellency, Wife of the Abia state Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu (Ph.D) and the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Abia State Chapter to hold the maiden edition of Mr and Miss Abia on Friday 23rd December 2022 at Micheal Okpara auditorium by 2pm.

In a press release signed by the honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture Barr. Tony Nwamuo and made available to newsmen, revealed that the event will feature Contestants from the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Abia State and will have Cultural colouration.

The Tourism Commissioner, further disclosed that the essence of the event is to promote creativity among youths via tourism, discover talents, showcase and preserve Abia Cultural heritage, by promoting made in Aba products and tourism development in the state.

He, however, thanked the culture-friendly Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for being in the vanguard of promoting tourism and made in Aba products, coupled with his giant achievements in infrastructural development to mention but a few.

He disclosed that the winner of Mr and Miss Abia will go home with a cash prize gift each.

He said: “There will also be endorsement deal from reputable organizations. The context will attract exciting gifts for other runners up.
“The event will also feature side attractions such as Old School music performances by veteran Artists; Paulson Kalu, King Proffesor Obewe, The Apostle Rock Group, Exnel Nwaba, Abia Art Council and a whole lot of Abia Born Artists under PMAN.

The release further appreciates our partners, Sampton View Ltd, Owners of Sampton View Hotel, Ukwa East and directs interested models to visit the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Secretariat Complex, Ogurube layout Umuahia to obtain their forms.
