AVATAR “The Way Of Water” is been estimated at a production cost of over $350 million, making it the most expensive movie in history.
The premium movie will be viewed in cinemas globally this week. Despite many theaters remaining close in China due to government strict stance of COVID policy, the movie distribution company Walt Disney and director James Cameron are pushing for high subscription to recoup the huge investment in the production and marketing cost.
According to Cameron “Can we be profitable in a changed market? or are we the last dinosaur dying after the comet hit? I couldn’t tell that right now”. The original film was scheduled to be unveiled with Chinese moviegoers but the zero-COVID policy might be a constraint.
