“Trust is not simply a matter of truthfulness, or even constancy. It is also a matter of amity and goodwill. We trust those who have our best interests at heart and mistrust those who seem deaf to our concerns.” – Gary Hamel.
Nothing could be more altruistic and apt than those line of thoughts by Gary Hamel. Many a time we are more sensitive and disposed to those who care about us, than those who despise us. It is natural law that people tend to lean more towards those sharing their burden and where they can easily get succour and comfort.
In same vein, people have greater distrust for those who seem deaf to their concerns. As it is today in our political clime, many politicians seem deaf to the plight of the masses paving the way for mistrust and indifferent attitude amongst the people. This is because the political class failed to understand that basic principle of building trust by taking simple responsibility that could better the society. Instead, they believe that engaging in hook or crook means could guarantee them political power.
Unfortunately, the tides are changing with events, as there is palpable reawakening sweeping across the political firmament which is helping to separate the wheats from the chaffs.
Even without any political ambition, which he has never been desperate about, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, DSSRS, has in time past coordinated activities in the best interest of the majority of Rivers people. His concern for humanity overtime has assisted in building up public trust for him. Within his career circle he is well trusted by both subordinates and contemporaries; and in the larger society, Sim Fubara is one much loved by all for his humble disposition and uncommon kindness.
No wonder it was not difficult for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, stakeholders, faithfuls and supporters in Rivers State to unanimously endorse his gubernatorial candidature without deep seated acrimony.
Sir Siminalayi Fubara represents a character of trust and commitment to collective goals. He is set to amplify the development narrative by consolidating the new Rivers vision that has characteristically instituted infrastructural revolution in the State. Therefore, Sim Fubara is only putting an icing by expanding the development frontiers and creating unlimited opportunities for the prosperity of Rivers people.
That is a man so trusted to take the state to yet another height. The height of complementing physical infrastructural development with human capital development that will synergize to accelerate the making of an egalitarian society.
We are certainly convinced that you also trust Sir Siminalayi Fubara to deliver quality leadership and good governance when elected on that auspicious day of March 11, 2023 when you shall join numerous Rivers people to vote for SIM/Ngozi under the PDP umbrella as governor and deputy. We are sure your trust will create enormous goodwill that will speak good and victory for us all as Sir Siminalayi Fubara gets resounding and landslide victory on that day. God bless you as you continue with me on this journey to March 11, 2023.
