As human activities ontinuously transform the planet, the global insect population is declining at an unprecedented rate of up to 2% per year. Many due to deforestation, pesticide use, and climate change, along with the crops, flowers and other animals that rely on them to survive.

The economical importance of insects to the environment are numerous. They are crucial to the food web.

But very worrisome is the fact that a huge number of insects could soon face extinction due to human activities on the environment and climate change.
