Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan join the families of those who lost their lives in the Sunday plane crash to mourn, in her tweet ;
“I have received with sadness the news of the accident involving Precision Air’s plane,” “Let’s be calm at this moment when rescuers are continuing with the rescue mission while praying to God to help us.”
Flight PW494 operated by Precision Air crash landed into Lake Victoria in Tanzania on Sunday, killing 19 people on-board. According to preliminary investigation the crash was caused by storms and heavy rain.
The ill-fated plane that was carrying 39 passengers, including an infant and 4 crew members left the commercial capital Dar es Salaam and crash landed into Lake Victoria as it was approaching Bukoba airport.
Albert Chalamila, chief administrator of Tanzania’s Kagera region told press men in his words “Two pilots survived the crash and were in touch with rescue workers from the cockpit before reporting that their oxygen supply was dwindling, but the two flight attendants survived.
