Senator Hope Uzodimma has finally criticized the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC for coming short of it mandate of bringing development to the people of Niger Delta.
He made this know today during a courtesy visit by Engr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua the Acting Managing Director of the Agency and his team to Imo State Government House, Owerri.
Uzodimma lamented that NDDC under the present Federal Government has drifted far from it primary assignment of initiating projects and implementing them, to mere maintenance outfit.
He expressed his disappointment that Imo as an oil producing state have not gotten it fair share nor anything thing to show from NDDC.
In his words, “Go back to the original intention of setting up the Commission so that the impact will be felt by our people.
“We have observed marginalization inside marginalization. None of the oil producing states should be marginalised. We must get justice, we must get equity, we must get even distribution of amenities, address marginalisation inside the NDDC.
“Each time they say we are a member, why is intervention not coming to Imo State, but going to other states? Repair Elele to Owerri road and also repair the bad sections from Mgbidi to Awommama under your emergency programme, he added.
