SWITCH-ON PRESENTS RELIEF MATERIALS TO IHUAJE IDP CAMP:

Following devastating flood that ravaged parts of Rivers State, a non-governmental organisation, SWITCH-ON in conjunction with SIM Media Volunteers have presented relief materials to the internally displaced people located at the Ihuaje camp in Ahoada East Local Government area of the state.

Making the presentation on behalf of the team to the council chairman, Mrs. Sotonye Toby Fulton said the flood has devastated many as it has no discrimination between class or category and created suffering amongst the people, stressing that they were at the camp to lend support to the victims in any little capacity so as to cushion the effects of the flood.

Mrs. Fulton who was accompanied to the camp by members of the SIM Media Volunteers noted that SWITCH-ON is a nonprofit organisation geared towards empowering Rivers people and have decided to provide some items to the IDP camp and urged the camp managers to ensure that the materials were distributed adequately to the victims.

Receiving the items, the chairman of Ahoada West local Government area, Hon. Hope Ikiriko commended the team for their magnanimity and thoughtfulness in remembering to render helping hands to those affected by the flood.

He assured that the items will be properly distributed to the benefit of the victims.

Highlights of the visit was presentation of relief materials to victims at the Ihuaje IDP camp.
