Andoni: Worst Days Are Over In Unyeada Kingdom – Engr. Nathan

The good people of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have been called upon to embrace the peaceful atmosphere initiated by the paramount ruler of Unyeada Kingdom, King Israel Ujamadeng Otuo IX, Okaan –Ama Unyeada, cemented by the Andoni Local Government Area chairman Hon. Barr. Erastus Charles Awortu.

The call was made by Engr. Gogo Nathan, a prominent son of Unyeada, Obolo nation, chairman of the Otuo General Assembly, Deputy Administrator General Unyeada Elites Assembly on Saturday the 22nd October, 2022 at Unyeada in Andoni L G A during the chieftaincy installation of Hon. Barr. Erastus Awortu. He recalled the communal crisis that wrecked havoc within the kingdom in the time past which, according to him, was regrettable. He pleaded with all concerned to stick to the peace initiative which has come to stay with the support of the local government chairman.

“We know what we went through for the past years when this community and other communities in Andoni, nobody would want to stay because it is like a community at war with itself because the people at the warring factions are our children but because they belong to different cult groups, they were fighting themselves. At the closet, buildings, human beings, life were lost but with the sole power of our king who gathered the kingdom and said that there was nothing to watch and allow this kingdom to go into extinction. He set up a peace and reconciliation committee, incidentally it happened at a time the present chairman Hon. Erastus Amortu came in but we had already started the peace process before then”.

He informed the audience that the peaceful atmosphere of Unyeada and the entire Andoni Local Government should not be misconstrued by any peace loving son of Obolo nation, appealing to all and sundry to accept in good faith that worst days are over in Andoni and entire Obolo nation.

He commended the efforts of the Andoni chairman, Barr. Erastus Awortu for cementing the reconciliation process that actually brought normalcy to the Unyeada Kingdom and the neighbouring communities.

He was hopeful that the 72 communities that make up Unyeada Kingdom will experience relative peace with the reconciliation initiative.
