PRESIDENT BUHARI SACK’S AKWA, APPOINT AUDU

The Sole Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission Mr Effiong Akwa have been sacked by the order of President Mohammedu Buhari. This was made public in a Memo dated 20th October, 2022, signed by Patricia Deworitshe the Press Director Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. Meanwhile Engr Dr Audu-Ohwavborua have been appointed Acting Managing Director in a memo signed same date by the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana. Okon Umana.

Mr Akwa was appointed interim administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission for the duration of the Forensic Audit, which has been long concluded, but yet to be implemented.

President Buhari has finally approved the of constitution of a new Management Team and Governing Board of the commission in line with section 5(2) of the NDDC Act 2000.

The names of the nominees for the New Management Team and Governing Board are to be forwarded to the National Assembly for approval.
