One Elder Solomon Sakanwi Gomba a member of Kiomee family in Agbeta Ebubu in Eleme Local Government Area have been butchered to death by suspected Fulani herdsman.
His lifeless body was discovered on his farmland with multiple knife cuts.
Comrade John Gomba a cousin of the slain 75 years old man informed the press, that his late uncle went to farm at Obolo and did not return. He then informed the Ebubu youth council who immediately went in search of him in the farm and eventually recovered his decomposed body on his farm.
He revealed that in recent times there have been issues of unresolved conflict between the herdsmen and some Ogoni farmers in the area, and called on the Commissioner of Police and the Rivers State Government to intervene and come to their aid.
According to findings the territory of the farmland have been in dispute between the Fulani herdsmen and the people of Ogoni since last month.
The Chairman of the Local Government Area have called on Security Agencies to commenced investigate into the circumstances that led to the barbaric act with the view of bringing the perpetrators to book,to avoid total break down of law and order in the area.
