The Rivers State government has commenced the dualization of the Azikiwe/Iloabuchi road following the flag off performed by the former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko in Port Harcourt.
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike; CON in his address stated that the government has paid 80% of the contract sum to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, adding that the project will be delivered within 6 months according to specifications.
The governor affirmed the commitment of his administration towards ensuring timely and adequate compensation for all properties that will be impacted by the project.
Gov Wike maintained that as a standard practice, government should not be about giving excuses, but rather delivering on the core of governance which has been the driving force for his administration.
In performing the flag off of the Azikiwe/Iloabuchi road, the former governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko commended the governor for the legacy projects he is executing in Rivers state and his courageous stance against those who were trying to turn the country into a one party state. He also lauded the governor for his contributions towards the rebirth of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria.
He said though the governor as every one else is imperfect, is doing what matters most, which is the delivery of quality service to the people.
