POPE FRANCIS DEBUNKS RUMOURS OF HIS RESIGNATION

In an exclusive interview in Vatican City, Pope Francis debunks rumours of his resignation. The rumours of his resignation is coming after series of event , which includes meetings with his cardinals to discuss a new Vatican constitution, a ceremony to induct new cardinals and a visit to Italian city of L’Aquila which traditionally is been viewed as a resignation announcement.

L’Aquila is been associated with Pope Celestine V in 1294 and Pope Benedict XVI 2013 , who both resigned after they visited the city.

Though Pope Francis repeatedly stated that he might resigned if failing health made it impossible for him to run the Church.

During a media chat on Saturday , the 85 years old pontiff strongly condemned, abortion following the U.S Supreme Court ruling last month. He compared it to in his words “hiring a hit man”. “I ask: Is it legitimate, is it right, to eliminate a human life to resolve a problem?”

Speaking of the situation in Ukraine, Francis noted that there have been contacts between Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about a possible trip to Moscow.
