R. Kelly a three time Grammy Award winner and one of the biggest music stars in the world whose topping hit in 1996 ” I Believe I Can Fly ” thrills and won Pope Benedict XVI recommendation, was sentence to 30 years in imprisonment for sexually abusing women, girls and boys.
R. Kelly on Friday sued the Brooklyn jail for putting him on suicide watch list after he was docked in the prison despite knowing he was not suicidal. He is demanding for unspecified compensation and punitive damages, though the docket suggest $100 million.
The 55 year old R&B singer said officials at the Metropolitan Detention Center ordered the watch solely for punitive purposes because he was a high profile inmate.
Jennifer Bonjean Kelly lawyer said “MDC Brooklyn is run like a gulag”, when she quoted a prosecutor as saying “per the psychology department, Kelly is on a psych alert for various reasons, such as age, crime, publicity and sentencing.”
