Ministerial nominee, Hon Odum Odih became the cynosure of national politics shortly after making a ministerial list forwarded by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Senate for screening and confirmation as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Hon Odum was a one time elected chairman of Abua/Odual LGA and at the time he emerged as best performing council chairman in Rivers state between 2008-2011. Currently he is the leader of APC in Abua/Odual.
Born on July 24, 1972 Odum started his early career in politics which eventually paid off when he was elected as chairman of council. Aside politics, he is also a successful businessman and the CEO of Opelia Farms Ltd.
Over time because of his antecedents he was nicknamed “Agbola” The political ‘mammywater’. He’s widely regarded as an empowerment machine and a great philanthropist.
Many view Hon Odum as a political miracle against the backdrop of the great leap from local politics to the national scene as he made the ministerial list among six others.
When confirmed and sworn in, Hon Odum Odih will become the first minister from Abua/Odual extraction.
