The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries Worldwide an international Ministry whose headquarters is in Port Harcourt, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has advised Federal Government of Nigeria to reconsider meeting the needs of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to enable them call of the strike which had lingered for so long.
Apostle Chinyere made this call in his separate release from his verified Facebook page today.
The man of God who is so concerned about the future of the Nigeria youth frown at the inability of the Federal Government to fulfill the agreement they entered into with ASUU adding that the President and Governors passed through lectures in their universities and should therefore see the need to expedite action for the strike to be called off.
“An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Government needs to fulfill agreement. Lectures are foundation of presidents and Governors”
He queried why they should suffer poor Nigerians thereby working towards stopping them from going to the University in other not to compete with their children who are all studying abroad.
“While their children are in overseas universities,they want the poor not to go to university so that they cant march there own kids”
He advocates for a stiffer Government policy where the Children of all Government appointees in Nigeria will attend Universities in Nigeria as this would bring a permanent solution to ASUU strike in Nigeria.
Apostle Chinyere who have sponsored several less privileged Nigerians on scholarship in different Universities in Nigeria decried the effect of the ASUU strike adding that all the students he has sponsored under OPM scholarships wants him to move them to overseas university which according to him is not possible at the moment as the pressure and financial burden of over 2,000 Nigerians who are currently studying under OPM undergraduate University scholarships in Poland, Turkey, Cyprus, United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates is very heavy on him and the Church.
“Because of ASUU strike almost all the children under OPM scholarship wants me to move them overseas university. Not possible”
He further advised the federal government to forget about the election in 2023 and discuss with ASUU in other to bring an end to ASUU strike in Nigeria as the strike action would cause brain drain if proper care is not taking.
