The Federal Government has revealed the country has reached a critical level where the hospital capacity will no longer be able to cope with more serious COVID-19 cases.
Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, , on Monday, July 11, said this comes as the country records over 100,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,300 deaths.
Ihekweazu urged citizens to take precautions to curb the spread of the virus, while speaking at the PTF briefing in Abuja, he reiterated that health workers may be forced to make tough decisions.
“We need to protect our more vulnerable citizens. We all have to take responsibility, this is not for NCDC, PTF or government alone,” Ihekweazu said.
